Bump Bar

A hardware keypad used at a kitchen display to clear (bump) tickets without touching the screen.

A bump bar is a small sealed keypad mounted under a kitchen display; cooks press a numbered key to clear, or bump, a ticket when it is done, which keeps greasy hands off the screen. It dates from the era of fixed KDS controllers and is still common in high-volume quick service. Opero sells no bump bar and its kitchen display is built for touch: it runs on an Android tablet you already own and is tap-to-bump, with hold-to-complete, number-key bumping from an attached keyboard and a short recall strip for a ticket bumped by mistake.
