Privacy Policy

Information we collect

• Account & business data — name, email, business name, locations, and billing details you provide.
• Transaction & order data — orders, menu items, and sales processed through the service.
• Guest data (on behalf of restaurants) — e.g. loyalty profiles, contact details, and receipts a restaurant collects from its guests using Opero.
• Payment data — card payments are handled by our embedded payments provider; we do not store full card numbers. We receive limited transaction metadata (amount, status, last four).
• Device & usage data — IP address, device/browser type, and product usage and diagnostics to operate and improve the service. On our marketing website we also use cookies and the Meta Pixel (see Analytics & advertising).

How we use information

To provide, secure, and improve the service; to process subscriptions and payments; to provide support; to send service and (where permitted) product communications; to detect and prevent fraud and abuse; and to comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.

How we share information

We share information with service providers (sub-processors) only as needed to run Opero, including categories such as: cloud hosting and database infrastructure, our embedded payments provider and its sponsor bank, and communications/email providers. We may also share information to comply with law, enforce our terms, or in connection with a business transfer. Providers are bound to use the information only to perform services for us.

Analytics & advertising

On our public marketing website only — not the Opero operator app, ordering, kiosk, or point-of-sale surfaces — we use the Meta Pixel, an analytics and advertising tool from Meta Platforms, Inc. It uses cookies and similar technologies to measure how our advertising performs and to help us reach relevant audiences. Through it, limited information such as the marketing pages you view, your IP address, and general device/browser details is shared with Meta. We do not send Meta your name, email, phone number, SMS opt-in data, or any restaurant guest or payment information through the pixel. You can limit or opt out of this through your browser cookie settings, your Meta ad preferences, or industry tools such as the Digital Advertising Alliance.

SMS communications

Opero sends SMS text messages only to people who provide their own mobile number and affirmatively opt in (an unchecked consent checkbox shown beneath the phone field). Messages are operated by TackOn LLC under A2P 10DLC and cover order/receipt confirmations, reservation and loyalty notifications, account/service notices, support follow-ups, and marketing and promotional messages (offers, discounts, and rewards). Mobile information, SMS opt-in data, and consent records are not shared with, sold to, or transferred to any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Phone numbers are shared only with our SMS delivery sub-processor to send the messages you opted into. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help at any time. Data retention & security

We retain information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. We use technical and organizational measures (including encryption in transit and access controls) to protect information, though no method is 100% secure.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, or if you are a restaurant guest, contact the restaurant or email us at privacy@operoos.com (or use our contact page) and we will route your request appropriately. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
