SKU (Stock Keeping Unit)

A unique code identifying a purchasable inventory item.

A SKU is a unique identifier for an item you buy and stock — a specific size and brand of an ingredient or supply. SKUs let you track quantity on hand, costs, and reorder points distinctly. Opero's inventory ties SKUs to recipes so that selling a dish draws down the underlying ingredient SKUs, keeping counts and costs current.
