Embedded Payments
Card processing built into the POS itself, rather than bolted on through a separate gateway.
Embedded payments means the software platform is also the payments provider, so a charge is created by the same system that created the order and the two are matched automatically. The practical gain is reconciliation: there is no nightly exercise matching a processor's report against a POS report, because there is only one record. The trade is that you are choosing your processor when you choose your software. Opero's payments are embedded and auto-matched to each order; taking cards in person needs one supported card reader per location, bought from us.
